Established in 1921, Ambrose University is the Missionary Alliance and Canadian school of The Christian Church of the Nazarene situated in Calgary, Alberta under the leadership of Gordon Skitch. The university is categorized among the "Christian liberal arts universities". Ambrose University provides graduate and undergraduate courses in liberal arts and science through 8 faculties including The faculty of agriculture art, law, engineering, natural science, medicine, and social science. 

The University is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools in Canada and the United States. The university is accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education to offer undergraduate ministry and theology degrees, and also by the Province of Alberta which pertains to the authority in the conferring of Bachelor of Arts degrees in selected disciplines.

The campus of the university is in a suburban neighborhood in southwest Calgary which is a short drive from the city center and is also within easy walking distance of the 69th Street C-Train station. The other modes of transportation include cars, buses, subways, and taxis.
