The private institution Bradley University, founded in 1897, is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. It was previously known as Bradley Polytechnic Institute. The institute was renamed its current name in 1946. With 14 faculty members and 150 students, the University began classes in Bradley Hall. By 1899, the institute had 500 enrolled, and the new academic structure included several subjects.

Transportation in the city

The Campus of Bradley University is three hours by car from Chicago, St. Louis, and Indianapolis and is also accessible by air. The Bradley campus is accessible from major Chicago airports via the O'Hare and Midway bus services. Alternatively, fly directly to Peoria via the General Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport (PIA), which has daily flights to and from Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, and Minneapolis. Destin (FL), Las Vegas (NV), Mesa (AZ), Nashville (TN), Orlando (FL), Punta Gorda (FL), and St. Petersburg are among the other destinations (FL).

Student life

Bradley University campus is located in the historic West Bluff neighborhood of Peoria, Illinois. Bradley's 84-acre (340,000 m2) Campus is on Peoria's west bluff, just minutes from downtown. The Campus of Bradley University is relatively compact. 

  • Graduate students have a variety of programs to choose from, including some within the Foster College of Business Administration. Outside of the classroom, 30% of Bradley students are involved in Greek life, with the rest opting for volunteer groups, club or intramural sports, or one of the other 250 campus organizations. Nearly 15 Bradley Braves varsity sports teams compete in the NCAA Division I Missouri Valley Conference. Ray LaHood, the United States Secretary of Transportation, is a notable Bradley alumnus.
  • Bradley University has more than 30 clubs, including Business Club, drama club, French club, etc., that help students find their interests.
  • The Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) was founded to advance Bradley University's commitment to diversity and improve underrepresented students' access and success. Their goal is to facilitate dialogue among the campus community. The motive is to provide a supportive, inclusive, and appreciative environment for diversity and its benefits.

At Sakala Success Centre, students are assisted in determining their future careers, including career testing, resume-building assistance, and individualized career counseling sessions. The healthy co-working spaces at the school, the modular equipment and teaching methods, and the business incubator encourage the students to put forth theoretical approaches to practical capabilities.

Bradley University students can apply for internships at places of their choice for a maximum of 44 hours per week. The Turner Center for Entrepreneurship advises students who want to start a business, and the Smith Career Center, which assists students with résumés, cover letters, and interviews, help them make the most of their degrees. Every year, students donate 50,000 hours to nonprofits through weekend community service, alternative spring break trips, and projects organized by student organizations, Greek life, and the Lewis J.
