California State University, East Bay (CSUEB) was established by the California State Assembly in 1957 as the State College for Alameda County. It started holding classes in 1959 at Cherryland's Sunset High School with just 25 professors and 293 pupils. The college moved to its permanent location in the fall of 1963, and its current name was given to it in 2005. Currently, the university is Western Association of Schools and Colleges accredited (WASC).In the San Francisco East Bay Area of California, CSUEB has three campuses: Hayward, Oakland, and Concord.
