Founded in the year 1971, Camosun College is one of the top community colleges of Canada that is located in Victoria in the British Columbia region of Canada. The college has two campuses, one in Interurban and the other in Lansdowne.

Camosun College is accredited by Colleges and Institutes Canada (CIC), Canadian University Press (CUP), Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) and the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE). It is the largest community college in the area of British Columbia.

Students from all over the world attend classes at Camosun College and can take up any of the 160-plus programs. About 19,000 students are admitted to the community college and are taught by more than 500 academic faculty. How to Apply at Camosun College, Interurban

Camosun College admission process is fairly simple for all international students. 

  • Application deadlines for the year are June 30 for Fall term, October 31 for Winter Term and February 28 for Summer Term. It is recommended to apply early to avoid the waitlist.
  • Applicants have to apply online through the Education Planner BC and keep the reference number along with the e-payment receipt.
  • An application fee of 100 CAD (5,975 INR) has to be paid by all international and national applicants.

Transportation in the city

Victoria is well connected to other parts of British Columbia by the roadways. Students can avail of the Camosun Express Shuttle or the British Columbia transit, consisting of 2 bus routes. All the learners of Camosun College are equipped with a U-Pass (Universal Bus Pass). Cycling is one of the economical modes of transportation at Camosun College. Students can use an electric vehicle to arrive at the campus.

On campus accomodation

Camosun College does not have any on-campus accommodation facilities for the students. The students live outside the campus in shared rooms or rented apartments. Camosun Homestay Program is in place for the international students to help them find out the housing facilities in Victoria. Hostels are also available for cheaper living costs.

Although Camosun College has no provision for on-campus residency, the Camosun Homestay Program is a handy service for international students. The student can stay at a homestay with or without dining services. Meals have to be prepared by the students in the shared kitchen space.

The Co-op work permit form has to be filled up by the students to confirm the type of jobs and internships they want to take part in. International students can work for 20 hours a week which might increase while the semester break is going on.
