Central Connecticut State University (CCSU), abbreviated as CCSU, is a public-funded university in New Britain, Connecticut, USA. The university was founded in 1849 as the State Normal School and was granted full-fledged regional university status in 1983. The university encompasses five schools that offer 100 plus undergraduate programs in 80 fields and 75 graduate and doctorate courses. Transportation in the city

The campus of CCSU is located at 1616 Stanley St, New Britain, CT 06050. It is located at exit 29 of Route 9. The accessibility of CCSU is top-notch, and you can reach the campus by trains, buses, taxis, bikes, etc. Taking the bus to the CCSU campus is fast, inexpensive, and environment-friendly. Multi-ride tickets and passes are available from CT Transit. Similarly, CTFastrak is the state's first BRT system to use a bus-only highway for all or part of a journey. Students of CCSU can utilize the CTFastrak routes and the CT transit system to commute to and from the university campus. Thirdly, subway or metro routes are also available between Hartford and New Britain. Lastly, people who visit the CCSU campus by private vehicles can avail the university's free car parking facilities.

  • Campus Life – The CCSU campus sprawls across 165 acres of land and has a suburban setting. The campus comprises 40 buildings with state-of-the-art technologies, high-tech classrooms, study areas, lounge halls, eateries, etc. The university consists of four dining halls: the Cav in Memorial Hall, the new Hilltop Café, Starbucks, and the Devil's Den. Students can enjoy delicious, healthy, and nutritious meals at their chosen dining place. 
  • Student Clubs – CCSU is home to more than 125 student-led clubs and organizations catering to academic interests, social causes, performing arts, etc. The university's Student Center is an 84000-square foot facility that is the epicenter of all student activities. The Student Center includes the Barnes and Noble bookstore, a food court, an ATM, a lounge, etc.
  • Sports Activities – Athletics and sports are two integral aspects of the students' lives at CCSU. The athletics team of Wheaton is called the Blue Devils. They compete in 18 intercollegiate varsity sports, including baseball, basketball, golf, soccer, swimming, etc. In addition, the university has a C.J. Huang Recreation Center that houses various facilities like fitness classes, cardio rooms, suspended tracks, etc.
