 Clayton State University, founded in 1969, is a public university in Morrow, Georgia.The main campus has 192 acres (0.78 km2) of wooded grounds with five lakes and a park-like setting. The University has an acceptance rate of 51%. Approximately 7,052 students are enrolled, and 167 Clayton State University international students come from more than 150 countries.

The main campus is home to four colleges: the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Health, the College of Information and Mathematical Sciences, and the College of Business. Transportation in the city

The campus is well connected through bus routes and easily accessible through the airport.The MARTA bus stop is located at Jonesboro Road, right outside the main entrance to Clayton State University. Route 193 leads to the Clayton State University stop. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL / KATL), located 8 miles from Clayton State University, is the nearest major airport.  


Services offered by the university

  • Students are just a quick walk away from their classes and essential facilities such as labs and libraries, as well as cafeteria establishments and the Student Activities Center. Students also find it easier to stay active and engaged with their peers and the many events on campus that make being a Laker unique.
  • Clayton State East is located off Trammell Road, directly behind the main campus, and houses extra administration offices for the University. Woodlands Hall houses the departments of Business and Operations as well as University.
  • Clayton State Film Studio at Lucy Huie Hall, located in Jonesboro, Georgia, was redeveloped from a former aviation hangar for Clayton State's aviation maintenance courses into a 10,000 square feet working film studio. 
  • Clayton State-Fayette provides a convenient location for South Atlanta residents and offers several undergraduate and graduate degree programmes. The new facility is about 15 minutes from Interstate 85 in Peachtree City, Georgia.
  • ISS can assist in making the transition to living in Georgia as easy as possible. It serves as the campus's information hub for all things international. The staff can help students adjust to campus life and answer critical questions like health insurance and visa requirements.

Student life

Clayton State University competes in the Peach Belt Conference as a Division II member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) (PBC). The university has varsity teams in five men's and five women's sports, known as the Lakers: basketball, cross country, men's golf, soccer, tennis, and indoor and outdoor track and field.


On campus accomodation

Undergraduates, primarily first-year students, live in Laker Hall. It has incredible amenities like private bedrooms, wireless internet, and onsite laundry facilities, as well as a welcoming neighborhood.
