Transportation in the city

Students at Dalhousie have access to a unique transit pass called the Universal Bus Pass (UPass). The pass price is covered by university tuition. Your DalCard is covered by the UPass sticker. To ride Community Transit buses and Halifax Transit buses from September to April, just present your card.


Services offered by the university

The libraries offer prompt, context-sensitive assistance in person or online with five libraries, two learning commons, archival collections, a Geographical Information Sciences (GIS) Centre, and a Copyright Office.

  • The Dalhousie Libraries run a system for academics to submit reading lists in Brightspace for electronic reserves. It offers copyright clearance as needed and aids in importing the documents into Brightspace. 
  • In schools, librarians impart information literacy lessons pertaining to your impending responsibilities.
  • By providing a little bit of the unexpected, most notably a Seed Library, access to 3D printing, and maker space workshops, it promotes chance discovery.

Student life

Three campuses-the Sexton, Carleton, and Studley campuses—as well as the Agricultural campus, which houses the Faculty of Agriculture, makeup Dalhousie University.

On Halifax's Studley campus is where Dalhousie's major athletic complex is situated. Dalplex contains a fieldhouse, squash and racquetball courts, a big exercise hall with cardio and strength equipment, an indoor pool, and training studios.
