Transportation in the city

The transportation facilities include the Pocono Cab Co. (570) 424-2800, WGM Transportation (570) 223-9289,

MCTA (Monroe County Transit Authority) and Pocono Pony bus services are available on campus. Students can pick up the buses on Normal Street before Hemlock Suites. Late Night Silver Shuttle, Express Silver Shuttle, Red Shuttle, and Black Shuttle are also available for transportation.

  • The University has a vast campus spread across 258 acres of land, comprising 62 educational and other buildings.
  • The academic buildings on the campus include the Schisler Museum of Wildlife & Natural History and McMunn Planetarium and technology centre, Hoeffner science auditorium, and Fine and performing arts centre, which has two theatres, and a gallery, rehearsal areas, art studios, and classrooms.
  • A Kemp library houses the Al- Cohn Memorial Jazz collection, and the writing studio and innovation centre comprises various entrepreneurial and research labs for students.
  • The Health and Wellness services support the mission by engaging faculty and students in building supportive and sustainable environments so that health can advance the capacity to work. The Office of Health and Wellness provides various health education and support services.

Student life

  • The Mattioli recreation centre and the university centre have recreational facilities for the students, including dining areas, basketball, racquet courts, aerobic rooms, and book stores.
  • The 57 buildings include a 1,000-seat dining hall, a student centre, a fitness centre, eight residence halls, and housing for around 2,400 students.
  • A 119-acre off-campus student leisure area owned by the Student Activity Association is close to Marshalls Creek and has a lodge, cabins, and a small lake. The institution is proud of its science and technology centre, which includes classroom and lab space.
  • The Computing and Communications Center supports academic computing. Administrative computing is served by a UNISYS centralized computer, which incorporates more than 30 online systems and offers services to students, faculty, and staff.
