Transportation in the city

While courses are in session, Elmhurst staff and students can travel for free owing to the Bluejay Bus. 

  • During the warmer months of a semester, students have the option to hire one of a small number of university bicycles through the Bluejay Bike Program.
  • The greatest public bus can be equipped with a variety of high-end amenities, like Wi-Fi, electricity, televisions, DVD players, restrooms, air conditioning, reclining seats, and more.

Services offered by the university

During the warmer months of a semester, students have the option to hire one of a small number of university bicycles through the Bluejay Bike Program.

  • Students can benefit from the health and counseling programs provided by the Elmhurst College Wellness Center. All enrolled students who need basic health care services, such as preventive care, treatment for minor ailments and injuries, immunizations, lab testing, and more, can get them from the Wellness Center.
  • The public safety team at Elmhurst works around the clock to ensure the safety of the campus's visitors, faculty, staff, and students.
  • The A.C. Buehler Library, which was founded in 1971, comprises about 237,000 books as well as a collection of works by the Chicago Imagists. In addition, the library has hundreds of audio-visual study resources and 100 computers available for public use.

Student life

At numerous locations on campus, it provides a choice of fresh, healthful meals. Whether they commute from home or live on campus, students have a variety of food plan options to select from.

  • By encouraging participation in our recreational facilities, activities, and services, Campus Recreation aims to improve the experience of a diverse student body.
  • You must have a Jaypass to access the gym. No one will be let inside the exercise center without a Jaypass.
  • All Elmhurst students have access to the two-story Fitness Center, which features cutting-edge equipment for weight training and physical fitness.

On campus accomodation

Students have access to lodging, and there are nine separate residential halls spread out around the Elmhurst College Campus. Apartment sharing is required for first-year students.

Four of the nine accessible Halls, which are in a restricted perimeter and are owned by 12 institutions, are apartments. A person is qualified for summer housing if they plan to stay over the summer break. The various types of halls include:

  • One of the recently added fully air-conditioned residences is Cureton Hall. 112 students can fit in the single and double rooms in the hall. They have restrooms, laundry facilities, and communal areas.
  • The seating capacity of Dinkmeyer Hall is 121 students. It has a suit feel to it. There is no air conditioning in the coed living area. There are single and shared rooms available.
  • First-year students only are permitted in Niebuhr Hall. This area is coed as well, however, each gender has its level. There is no available AC facility, only double rooms, shared bathrooms and communal areas.
  • Individually shaped single and double rooms at Schick Hall. The structure has enough for 208 pupils. It is coed by nature, however, occasionally wings are given to specific genders.
  • With a capacity of 165 students, Stanger Hall has single, double, and quadruple occupancy rooms. Otherwise, it is coed by nature since genders are assigned to floors. There are lounges with air conditioning and a shared restroom.
  • One of the newest additions is West Hall. For upper-class students, it is a suite-style residence. Both double and single rooms have air conditioning.
  • Elm Park Apartments, Prospect Apartments, campus homes, etc. are further alternatives.

Due to the small size of Elmhurst's independent research classes, students will have access to challenging research experiences that are typically only offered to graduate students. Students may design their own robots, research biological sensory mechanisms, or analyze quasars and black holes while working directly with a faculty member.
