Fairleigh Dickinson University was founded in 1942 and has its main campus in New Jersey, United States. Having achieved four-year status in 1948, FDU officially became a university in 1956.

A multicampus university, Fairleigh Dickinson University has two campuses - the Florham Campus in Morris County and the Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck. There are also campuses located outside the USA.

  • Across the two New Jersey campuses, there are more than 144 student clubs and organizations dedicated to topics such as art, literature, law, etc. A variety of cultural, educational, and social opportunities are available to international students through these clubs.
  • The Florham campus of Fairleigh Dickinson University has an active student life program, a variety of student activities, an athletic program, and a high level of support services.
  • Sports enthusiasts will find a wide range of activities to participate in. The facilities include racquetball courts, a basketball arena, a running track, and an eight-lane swimming pool, with all equipment provided free of charge.

On campus accomodation

There are housing facilities on both the Florham Campus and the Metropolitan Campus.

  • More than 1600 undergraduate and graduate students reside in Florham Campus residence halls, including the Twombly halls (Florence Twombly and Hamilton Twombly), Village (suite-style residence halls), Park Avenue and Rutherford Hall.
  • New and first-year students must submit their housing applications by May 1 for the fall semester and by December 1 for the spring semester. In addition, all students are required to pay a 350 USD non-refundable residence hall deposit.
