Georgia Southern University is a public research university established in 1906. The university is a part of the University System of Georgia. It is the largest centre of higher education in the southern half of Georgia and the fifth largest academic institution in the University System of Georgia. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, Space-grant, and the sporting accreditation of NCAA Division I and Sun Belt.
