Transportation in the city

Transportation in the main cities in Idaho, such as Moscow, Boise, and Idaho Falls is fairly centred around buses like Greyhounds, taxis, cars, and sometimes bikes. Depending on the city, walking can also be convenient. However, in smaller cities, public transportation services are limited, and most commuters use their own car, or the bus system if possible.

Services offered by the university

As an international student, the decision to move to another country can be nerve-racking. Therefore, it is important to make sure that you select a university that has a lot of resources and services for students that make the transition easier. ISU has many amazing resources for students, such as:

  • A student representative body.
  • The Bengal Pharmacy.
  • A Career Center.
  • The Disability Services Office.
  • An International Programs Office, and much more.

Student life

In terms of student life on campus, there are a lot of resources and activities available for students. ISU is an NCAA Division 1 college when it comes to sports, which means that there are a lot of sporting events, at the highest collegiate level. Some of the best parts of student life are:

  • There are above 100 student organisations like the Students Activities Board and the Associated Students of Idaho State University (ASISU).
  • The Outdoor Adventure Center for Students.
  • The Bengal Theatre which has a host of great shows
  • The Activities Calendar shows all the cool upcoming events.

On campus accomodation

When it comes to the availability of rooms on campus, ISU has a lot of dorms available for incoming students every year. Around 40% of ISU students live on campus. Both residence hall dorms and campus apartments are available.

When it comes to accommodation, most students who are in their first or second year choose a residence hall dorm, while older students choose to get their own apartment. The residence hall dorms range from four-person suits to one-bedroom units, while the campus apartments range from 1 bedroom to 2 bedrooms. Campus apartments range from USD 556-USD 695 (INR 42,496 - INR 53,120) a month.

Additionally, ISU has its own research council called the ‘ISU Research Council’ (RC).

The average graduating salary is estimated to be around USD 45,000 (INR 34,39,000) per year. This estimate is variable depending on the qualifications, field of work, and past work experience. Some of the organizations that students were placed at include Idaho Central Credit Union, Wells Fargo, and the St. Luke’s Health System.
