Transportation in the city

Louisiana Tech University is located in the small city of Ruston, Louisiana, and the distance between the city and the university is less than a mile. Students can travel to the university campus by taxi which lasts for 3 minutes and costs between 22 to 26 USD (1752 to 2071 INR). Bus lines are also available and last for 10 minutes. Additionally, the campus is only a 10-minute walk away from the city center.

Louisiana Tech University spread across 280 acres is home to 165 buildings along with a farm campus, forest land, golf course, research park, student center, state-of-the-art residential units, and a tech center, to name a few.

  • The university offers its students 125 smart classrooms and other technology-enhanced teaching facilities including auditoriums, computer labs, compressed video classrooms, conference rooms, lecture halls, and various labs. 
  • The Prescott Memorial Library has a collection of 38,51,110 books, electronic items, periodicals, government documents, audio-visual materials, and other curricular and research materials. The library includes a conference room, group study rooms, and computers. 
  • Tolliver Hall provides students with a spacious, contemporary gathering spot inclusive of a convenience store, cyber cafe, student association offices, and a 120-foot art mural.
  • Through the Career Center, students are offered individual career counseling, career labs, seminars, job and internship posting boards, networking events, and many other essential services. 
  • The on-campus bookstore allows students to purchase course materials, textbooks, apparel, school supplies, technology, and other student essentials.

  • Students can engage in numerous clubs and organizations covering various areas like academics, greek societies, achievements, culture, politics, public service, religion, spirituality, sports, and other special interests. 
  • The university offers men’s and women’s sports like baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, track & field, soccer, bowling, softball, tennis, and volleyball. 
  • Sports facilities include the Lambright Sports and Wellness Center which is equipped with basketball gyms, fitness areas, an indoor track, outdoor and indoor pool, climbing wall, racquetball courts, sauna, bowling alley, and billiards, among a few others. 
  • The on-campus Green Clinic TechCare provides appropriate medical care to all students, faculty members, staff, and families through its certified nurse practitioners.

Louisiana Tech University offers on-campus housing for all students through its 11 residence halls with traditional and apartment-style living options. All undergraduate students are required to live on campus.
