Marymount University was founded in 1950 as a private catholic university in Arlington, Virginia, United States. Students have access to bachelor's, master's, doctoral programs, and Marymount University Courses Undergraduate and postgraduate certificate programs. Furthermore, the university has two additional campuses, the Ballston Center and the 4040 center, located within the same geographical area.

A total of 3,294 students attend the university, including 2,041 undergraduates and 1,253 graduate students. Transportation in the city

Services offered by the university

  • The Ballston Center, which was founded in 2017, consists of a 9-story academic/office tower, as well as a 12-story residential/retail building with underground parking. There is also a public plaza and green space on this campus.
  • Near the Ballston Metro Station, the 4040 Center houses both the physical therapy doctoral program and the MedStar Clinic. The distance between the 4040 Center and the main campus is barely a few minutes.

Student life

In addition to its main campus, Marymount University has two academic centers. The main campus of Marymount University comprises the Main House, Residence Halls, and Academic Buildings.

  • Over 30 clubs and 68 student organizations are affiliated with Marymount University, most of which are advised by the Office of Student Transition, Engagement, and Leadership. Student organizations and clubs are formed depending on the interests of Marymount students, and may include organizations dedicated to community service, philanthropy, or a specific academic interest.
  • The athletic teams of Marymount compete in NCAA Division III in the Atlantic East Conference and offer 20 sports.

Marymount University strongly supports students to participate in original research under the supervision of faculty mentors. The DISCOVER program at Marymount University organizes the University's annual Student Research Conference, during which student research projects are presented to the campus community.   • Professional Internships
    Students must attend 75 to 90 hours of coursework based on their major to qualify for the Professional Internship. It will ensure that they have sufficient classroom experience to apply to the internship setting.
  • Pre-Professional Internships
    All Marymount University students are encouraged to complete multiple internships, in addition to their required Professional Internship before graduation. A Pre-Professional Internship can take various forms and involve a wide range of tasks. Students participating in pre-professional internships obtain exposure to their fields, network with professionals, and begin to develop employment skills.
