Spread across 1560 acres and 79 buildings, McNeese State University delivers a multi-purposeful campus that offers amenities in the fields of health & wellness, activities & organizations, campus safety, career development, accessibility services, academic pursuits, fitness, and athletics, among a few others. Beyond their main campus, the university’s facilities cover a further 1400 areas, including the Southwest Louisiana Entrepreneurial and Economic Development (SEED) Center, the Center for Advancement of Meat Processing and Production (CAMPP), and three working farms for academic purposes as well.  

  • Providing one-on-one support, faculty and staff members mentor students as part of the university’s CARE Mentorship Program. 
  • The Lether E. Frazar Memorial Library contains books, articles, journals, newspapers, archives, government information, eBooks, and eTextbooks. The library also offers an online version and research tools.
  • The Office of Freshman Advising provides academic guidance to first-time students about major selection, academic progress, and other educational matters. 
  • For students of biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, and statistics courses, the tutoring center is available at their disposal. 
  • The Write to Excellence Center and Literature Lab assists and guides academic writing and other literature concepts. 

Student life

  • Students can engage in multiple activities hosted by more than 100 student clubs and organizations which cover a range of interests like sports, academics, greek life, campus services, culture, politics, religion, health systems, food, music, literacy, leadership, sexuality, and art, among many others. 
  • McNeese Athletics offers its students to participate in various men’s and women’s sports like baseball, basketball, cross country, football, soccer, tennis, softball, volleyball, and track & field. Intramural sports like flag football, table tennis, badminton, and more are also offered. 
  • The university’s Cowboy Stadium has a seating capacity of 17,610, with an athletic field house with 200 box seats. It also has a practice area with three football fields on the stadium's east side.
  • Located just north of the Student Recreation Center on the McNeese State University campus, The McNeese women’s tennis team plays all their home games at  Nancy Hank Tennis Center. It comprises eight all-weather courts and is open to the public at night.
  • The Hodges Street Fieldhouse, home to the women’s soccer and football teams, is a 5,400-square-foot facility equipped with two locker rooms with showers and restrooms, a meeting room, a training area, and a laundry room. 
  • The Jack V. Doland Fieldhouse, a 53,838 square foot facility, offers its visitors a weight room, team meeting rooms, locker room, conference rooms, indoor club room, outdoor seating area, digital and interactive Hall of Fame room, and an academic resource center.
  • The university also offers the Dowell "Doc" Fontenot Sports Medicine Center, one of the finest and ultra-modern facilities in the region. 
  • Home to the men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball teams, the 145,00 square foot H&HP Complex has the main basketball arena that seats 4,242 people, and the volleyball court seats 500. 
  • The Bill and Lena Henning Track and Field Complex is a state-of-art rubberized, all-weather track equipped with jumping and vaulting pits, a scoreboard, a storage room, a lobby area, and a weight room that is dedicated to tracking athletes. 
  • Additionally, McNeese State University’s sports facilities include a golf club, power center, an indoor stadium, a legacy center, and a stadium. 
  • McNeese State University campus Recreational Sports Complex offers all university members and alumni the opportunity to participate in various sports and programs. Its facilities include an Olympic swimming pool, weight room, cardiovascular theater, an indoor track, basketball courts, tennis courts, a wellness center, and racquetball courts. 
  • The university’s Health Services provides acute and confidential medical care to all students through their trained nurse practitioner, nursing staff, and a collaborating physician for consultation.
  • Staffed by full-time, licensed professional counselors and graduate student interns, the McNeese Counseling Center offers comprehensive and confidential mental health counseling, assessment, consultation, and crisis interventions to all students. Health Services and counseling services are funded by the student health fee students pay each semester. 
  • Additionally, the McNeese Wellness program provides free exercise classes, lifestyle programs, health talks, fitness challenges, wellness screenings, conditional programs, health fairs, consultations, and more for all university members.  
  • The Office of Accessibility Services provides post-secondary services for physically and emotionally learning impaired students. Students are assisted with academics, mental health, accessibility, and employment. 
  • The on-campus McNeese Bookstore allows students to purchase textbooks and school supplies. 
  • To ensure campus safety, the university uses the services of the McNeese Police Department, which operate 24- hours a day and is well-equipped with a team of professionals.
