Mercer University is a private research university established in 1833. The university was founded as Mercer Institute and has its main campus in Macon, Georgia, United States. It gained university status in 1837 and developed as one of the oldest private universities in the state. The university is affiliated with Georgia Research Alliance, Oak Ridge Associated Universities, Space Grant, NAICU, and Southern Conference. 

Mercer University courses constitute programmes like business, liberal arts and sciences, engineering, music, business, education, health professions, medicine, pharmacy, counselling, journaling, human services, theology, nursing, law, professional advancement, and more in 12 of its colleges.
