Exams Accepted By the University

All undergraduate candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of 30 USD. Whereas, for graduates, the Montana Tech Application fees is 50 USD.

Transportation in the city

Montana tech does not provide any commutation services to the students. However, using the university identification card students can easily travel within the city for free of cost.

  • The Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology is a research centre at the university campus where the researchers develop mineral, energy and water resources.
  • Montana Tech's North Hall consists of the Engineering Hall, Main Hall, the Chemistry/Biology Building, the Petroleum Building, the Mining/Geology Building, the Health, Physical Education and Recreation (HPER) Complex, the Engineering Lab and Classroom Building, and the Natural Resource Building.
  • The South Campus is home to 60000 sq feet of classroom and lab space.

On campus accomodation

Yes, on-campus accommodation is available at Montana Tech for the students studying at the university.

  • Montana Tech provides excellent on-campus housing options for students in the USA, with three co-residence halls accommodating approximately 370 students.
  • Living Learning Center - The newest hall with over 60% single-occupancy rooms and 40% double-occupancy or two-person suite single options.
  • Prospector Hall - Has space for 200 odd students with mostly double occupancy and a few single rooms. In addition, several suites are present with 2-3 bedrooms sharing a private living area and bathroom.
  • Centennial Hall - Comprises suite-style rooms on the third floor, but the rest of the building encompasses double-occupancy rooms.
  • Besides residence halls, Montana tech maintains apartment units that are leased to students who are living off-campus. Apart from all the basic amenities provided, extra benefits include nutritional counseling and sack meals for students who might be away on class-related matters. The housing committee also provides in-room services during emergency cases.
  • Interested candidates should submit their online application and an initial refundable deposit of 100 USD to the MTU housing committee.

Research opportunities at university

The university does not consist of any dedicated research institutes. But it encourages its students to take up research internships with the help of the career services wing of the university. 

The university also allows the students to take up personal research projects with collaboration with other professors or research organizations under the guidance of university faculty. 


Internship opportunities (Part time job opportunities)

Career services at Montana Tech offer the graduates and alumni job opportunities, internships and full-time jobs. They prepare the students for interviews, resumes, and sessions.

Students who want to alleviate their expenses can work at the university and gain work experience. The Enrollment Services office offers and collects student employment paperwork and timecards. The Payroll office processes timecards for student employee paychecks.

Students who have never worked on Montana Tech Campus before (or within the last two years) need to submit the following forms for student employment :
