As a component of the living lab, the research centre stores data on an array of environmental phenomena. Using the Institutional Data Archive (IDA), the general public can access the faculty and student research data and other materials, including a collection of historical and contemporary campus maps. The students can view and use the data collected from various courses and independent student projects. They can conveniently upload and store their research.

Research papers are required as part of the 200-level courses and 300-level seminars. In econometrics (Econ 220), the students can write one empirical research paper applying the statistical methods learned in class.

  • Independent study

Students can explore an independent project (Econ 295 or 395) under the supervision of a faculty member. An honours thesis is an independent study that starts with the Senior Thesis Seminar (Econ 394). In this class, the students begin their research project while studying how to do the research in depth. They can complete their project in the spring by working with a faculty advisor.
