Founded on September 18, 1935, Virginia Union University Norfolk was the first unit within Norfolk State University. The first director of Virginia Union was Samuel Fischer Scott, an alumnus, and native of Portsmouth, who was concerned primarily with the school's solvency. NSU provides a very excellent transport facility to its students. The college offers transport services like buses, coaches, shuttle buses, and vans. All of the transport works on a weekday from morning to evening. The cost of the college transport is very minimal. Other than these students can also bring their own vehicles and park those in the college parking (free of cost).
