Founded in 1975 to provide higher education to students, North Island College is located on the Vancouver Island of British Columbia, Canada. It is a community college whose largest campus is located in Comox Valley while the other three campuses are situated in Port Alberni, Port Hardy and Campbell River.

Offering more than 80 programmes and 1000 courses, North Island College (NIC) has a unique feature of portable classrooms. The Tebo Vocational Center is present in the Port Alberni campus in which about 2000 students are admitted each year.

The Roger Street Bistro is one of the highlights of the Port Alberni campus of North Island College where students from culinary backgrounds can practice their skills. More than 9000 students take part in the various programmes offered by NIC every year.
