Northwest Missouri State University

The Northwest Missouri State University, commonly known as Northwest, is a state university located in Maryville, Missouri that was founded in 1905. The school is governed by a state-appointed Board of Regents and headed by President Dr. John Jasinski. It utilizes a trimester-based academic calendar and it offers more than 120 undergraduate majors, 73 minors, 18 pre-professional programs, 40 graduate programs, five graduate certificate programs, three certificate programs, three specialist programs. The Northwest counts with eleven departments and schools including Department of Fine and Performing Arts, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Language, Literature and Writing, Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Department of Natural Sciences, School of Agricultural Sciences, Melvin D. & Valorie G. Booth School of Business, School of Communication and Mass Media, School of Computer Science and Information Systems, School of Education and School of Health Science and Wellness. There is also the Division of Health and Wellness and the Division of Behavioral Sciences.
