Nova Scotia Community College

The campuses are connected to Halifax via shuttle service. The Annapolis Valley Campus, Burridge Campus, Shelburne Campus Centre of Geographic Sciences, and the School of Fisheries can be reached with Annapolis Valley Travel.

The Strait area campus can be reached with the Ceilidh shuttle. Cumberland campus (including Amherst), Marconi campus, Kingstec campus, Lunenburg campus, Pictou campus, and Truro campus can be reached by Maritime Bus.

• The college has a total of 16 campuses which are located all across Nova Scotia. The campuses are equipped with cafeterias and specialized classrooms.

• The Nova Scotia Community College occupies 14 campuses, located in Bridgewater (Lunenburg Campus), Dartmouth (Akerley Campus) (Ivany Campus), Halifax (Institute of Technology), Kentville (Kingstec Campus), Middleton (Annapolis Valley Campus), Port Hawkesbury Strait Area Campus), Shelburne (Shelburne Campus) Springhill (Cumberland Campus), Stellarton (Pictou Campus), Sydney (Marconi Campus), Truro (Truro Campus) and Yarmouth (Burridge Campus)

• Burridge has an entrepreneurial spirit and is also the host of the Tri-County Sandbox which is a place to develop new skills.

• There are campus spas, and nail and hair salons, where the students can apply what they’ve learned. The students can head to the cafeteria to try the famous cinnamon buns of the campus.

• eCampus of the college is an online community where the students can find faculty and the tools and resources which are needed to complete the courses and programs online.

• The students can get connected with an advisor who can help them with course planning and accessing the support and resources available to them. The students have the advantage of choosing their learning environment, like a coffee shop.

• The campus of the university houses the Centre for the Built Environment including learning and research labs for the students. The campus is home to the Design and Innovation Centre, where the. entrepreneurs work with engineers and students to design and also build tailored prototypes and automated processes.

• There is a Student Association and after enrollment, all the students can become a member of the Student Association. The Student Association is governed by a representative who is elected and the goal is to promote a balanced lifestyle and wellness. It also encourages the students to participate in various events held at the college.

• The university has an advising team that helps the students from the international community to help them find the resources which are there in college.

• A career services team should ensure that the students who are looking for jobs are helped by creating a resume along with enhancing their interview networking and skills.

• The Nautical Institute of the university provides Canada-approved marine training for students who want to advance their careers at sea. The students can learn in marine facilities, including a free-fall lifeboat.

• The School of Fisheries provides a range of training programs to meet the needs of the fish harvesting industry and vessel operators.

• The Centre of Geographic Sciences in Lawrencetown is the largest geomatics-focused learning environment.

• Quality leadership opportunities are provided to the students through club memberships and the university allows these students to strengthen and gain leadership skills. 

• All of the clubs and activities are volunteer-based and also provide fun and valuable experiences.

The university doesn't provide any on-campus residential facilities but helps the students with off-campus housing facilities.
