Transportation in the city

Monarch Transit is the shuttle service of the university which provides a fixed-route bus service to all students and faculty. The shuttles stop at the academic areas, parking locations, and athletic fields of the university.

The university partners with Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) to provide regional transit options. The university is bicycle friendly and has many bike-friendly programs and services for Monarch riders.

  • The Student Recreation Center of the university is located in the middle of the campus which is adjacent to the Rosane Runte Quad. The facility includes a 15,000-square fitness Center with cardio free-weights, an indoor swimming pool, and a three-court gymnasium.
