Rider University was established in 1865 as a private college. It has a total undergraduate enrollment of approximately 4,677 students in four colleges, a suburban setting, and 280-acre campus. Norm Brodsky College of Business, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, College of Education and Human Services, and Westminster College of the Arts are the four academic units of the college. 

The university's Lawrenceville campus is located three miles (5 kilometers) north of Trenton and five miles (8 kilometers) south of Princeton in a suburban setting. Rider University has four colleges under its umbrella, each with over 100 majors, minors, and special programs to select from. As part of its continuing education program, the institution offers associate degrees, post-baccalaureate degrees, and certificates in addition to undergraduate and graduate degrees.

All students, faculty, and staff at Rider University have access to safe, reliable, and affordable transportation options like free campus-to-campus shuttle, NJ transit bus, preferred car rental partners and safe ride services. 


Services offered by the university

  • There is a family exercise center, pool, alumni gym, library, football field, track, fraternity and sorority housing communities, and 12 residence halls in addition to academic and administrative buildings and offices at the campus. 
  • The mental well-being of a student is constantly prioritized in recreational activities and family fitness services. They are available for mental and spiritual counseling at any time.
  • More than 150 clubs and student-led organizations cater to every conceivable student interest. Students might also build their own groups depending on their personal interests.
  • On-campus, there are over 14 fraternities and sororities that help members form interpersonal relationships and develop leadership qualities. One in every ten students belongs to one of the two clubs.

Student life

  • The university places a high value on art and culture, with over 100 student performances taking place each year. Theatre, dance, music, and writing are just a handful of the many options available to students.
  • Every year, intramural and club sports attract a large number of participants. On-campus, there are around 25 sporting teams that compete against one another or with other affiliations.
  • On-campus, activities such as College Dance Party, Cranberry Fest, and Scream Screen provide opportunities for students to showcase their talents or simply have fun.

On campus accomodation

  • More than 2,400 students reside on campus and benefit from the housing options. The rooms are equipped with all of the essentials, such as a bed, desk, and chair, and students are welcome to bring their own supplies.
  • The Convener Hall is a co-ed residence hall with 207 double rooms for first-year students. There is a study lounge, a social lounge, a laundry room, a kitchen, and a bathroom.
  • The Gee Hall seats 124 students in conventional doubles and pods and has an international living environment.
  • Suite-style and apartment-style housing options are available at Hank and Bonnie Hall. It can accommodate 72 students and is equipped with all of the necessities for a comfortable stay.
  • Hill Hall features spacious living quarters and can accommodate 244 students ranging from freshmen to seniors.
  • In addition to typical doubles and pods, Kroner Hall can seat 244 students.
  • The Lake House is mostly populated by first-year students and provides a fine art living community. It is coed by the floor and houses 45 students in traditional doubles. There are some basic amenities accessible.
