The University of New Jersey's public research university has three regional campuses, including the one in Camden. Camden, New Jersey, is the university's main campus. Rutgers-Camden, which was established in 1929, came into existence when the South Jersey Law School and the College of South Jersey merged. Rutgers University boasts more than 9,000 international students from nearly 125 countries.

The university offers over 40 majors and 50 minors through six schools: The Rutgers School of Business–Camden, The Rutgers Law School, and The Rutgers School of Nursing–Camden, the College of Arts and Sciences, Graduate and Professional Programs, and Visual and Performing Arts.

Transportation in the city

  • In South Jersey and the Philadelphia metro area, access is available for public transportation. The PATCO Speedline connects southern New Jersey and Philadelphia with ease. 
  • The Southern Pennsylvania Transit Authority (SEPTA) is a United States public transportation system.  At Broadway and Mickle Boulevard, NJ TRANSIT buses stop at the Walter Rand Transportation Center. Rutgers–Camden shuttle bus service is provided by Rutgers–Camden to and from this transportation hub. 
  • Seasonal service between Penn's Landing in Philadelphia and the Camden Waterfront is also provided by the RiverLink Ferry.

  • The university has many student-led groups that are offered on campus. To name a few, these include the reading club, the astronomy society, the culinary club, the geology club, the skateboarding club, and others.

The course is an asynchronous asynchronous course with three virtual synchronous meetings scheduled during the semester.
  • The SAS E-Credit Internship Program is for students who are pursuing an internship for which they will receive one credit which will show on their transcript but will not contribute toward their graduation degree.
