- 97% of the students enrolled at Saint Mary’s University receive financial aid. Providing over 260 scholarships, bursaries, and awards, Saint Mary's University strives to ensure student's academic success without financial constraints holding them back.
- The First Generation Initiative (FGI) was launched in 2010 to help first-generation college students, or those who are the first generation in their family to attend a postsecondary institution, achieve academic success.
- Saint Mary's University provides a number of university-led study abroad programmes. Students may study at prominent universities in Iceland, Czech Republic, London, Austria, Spain, Italy, and Scotland if they participate in a Saint Mary's University of Minnesota study-abroad programme.
- The University offers six nationally-accredited degree programs, including Art, Chemistry, Physics, Education, Music, Nursing, and Social Work.
