The State Institution of New York at Buffalo is also known as the University at Buffalo (UB) or SUNY-Buffalo. It is a public research university in the United States with campuses in Buffalo and Amherst. The institution was established as a private medical school in 1846, and in 1962 it joined the State University of New York system. It is a flagship university of the SUNY system. Among the colleges in the SUNY system, UB boasts the highest endowment, enrollment, and research money.

Transportation in the city
The city is well connected with the great public transportation infrastructure of Metro Bus & Rail. Erie and Niagara Counties' public transit system is called Metro. With 24 million boardings, Metro traveled 11 mn miles in 2019.
The 323 buses in Metro's fleet include 99 that operate on CNG, 98 that utilize diesel-electric hybrids, and 224 that use ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel. It is built for dependable service and low carbon emissions.
The center of Buffalo is served by Metro's rail network as well. There are no emissions at all, and some of the electricity is generated via hydropower. To contribute less carbon to the atmosphere, you must ride a bike.

Student life
A Western New York icon since the 1920s is the South University at Buffalo SUNY Campus of UB. The 153-acre tract, which is the University at Buffalo SUNY Address is located in a lush residential area of North Buffalo, has high-rise residence halls, cutting-edge research and teaching facilities, as well as traditional structures covered in ivy and grassy quads with trees. Here are all the schools for architecture, public health and health professions, dentistry, nursing, and planning. The NCAA Division I Mid-American Conference is home to sixteen UB Bulls sports teams. Numerous other nearby colleges, such as Buffalo State College, Canisius College, Niagara University, and St. Bonaventure University, also have vibrant collegiate sports programs. Apart from that, there are 400+ clubs and organizations which are run by students themselves.

The campus has more than 12 residential halls which are available for the students to live in.
UB offers five campus apartment complexes in addition to more than 12 residential halls. Living on campus puts students at the center of university activity, making it simpler to get to classes, study, and socialize. Every taste is catered for in our residential dining facilities, food trucks, food courts, and snack bars.
