Founded in 1889, the college opened its doors in 1890.   • Lake Champlain Research
    Students take an active part in projects involving lake ecology and other topics. A number of students are involved in Lake Champlain monitoring through NYDEC and the Lake Champlain Basin Program. In this study, plankton communities will be characterized, and water quality monitored at 15 study sites monitored by the Lake Champlain Monitoring Program.
