Transportation in the city

The College of Saint Rose is located between Western Avenue and Madison Avenue in Albany.

The most accessible way to reach the university is either through the Madison Avenue bus line. The bus stop is only 2 minutes away from the university. For international students, the Albany International Airport serves the Capital Region with daily flights on major and commuter airlines. The airport is seven miles from Saint Rose and taxi service is available. The College of Saint Rose also has an agreement with CDTA that allows college students and employees to ride free on any CDTA line, except for the Northway Express and STAR Paratransit service (students & employees are required to show their college ID if they chose to travel through CDTA).

The College of Saint Rose provides hostel facilities on campus for all students, including international students. The university consists of a total of 18 residential halls, all of which offer great living conditions. 

  • Housing on-campus is available in the form of apartments which include traditional corridor-style buildings, suite-style, townhouses, Victorian-style houses and apartments.
  • The Traditional and Suite Style Housing Options are for First Year Students and consist of 5 residential halls. 
  • The Victorian Style Housing are for Transfer and Upper Class Students and consist of 13 residential halls.

Opportunities

Research opportunities at university

Undergraduates can do scholarly research. Students can propose their own projects or groups of students can build interpersonal skills by collaborating on research. Faculty members assist students by serving as mentors, role models, and—in some cases—co-researchers. 

At the annual Undergraduate Research Symposium, dozens of students present findings on topics ranging from mass-media messaging to molecular dynamics. Every year, the College also publishes a Journal of Undergraduate Research, featuring student papers selected by a faculty editorial board. Throughout the year, Saint Rose students take their studies overseas, during faculty-led trips.


Internship opportunities (Part time job opportunities)

At The College of Saint Rose, 80% of students complete an internship, student teaching assignment, or clinical practicum; half of them step from the experience straight into full-time employment. Many Saint Rose internships take place at the leading employers in the field, including IBM, Albany Medical Center, KPMG, New York State Assembly, iHeartMedia, Tower Research Capital etc.
