University of Alabama is one of the most renowned public research universities in Birmingham, Alabama. Originally a 1936-founded academic extension center, the organization expanded to a four-year campus in 1966 and then, in 1969, became a fully autonomous university within the University of Alabama System.

How to Apply at The University of Alabama

All applicants, including U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and overseas applicants, must use the online application to submit the necessary materials to the Graduate School:

  • Statement of purpose and applicant data sheet
  • One unofficial transcript from any U.S. or worldwide institution of higher learning (including community colleges) where 15 or more credit hours were earned. 
  • Official or unofficial admissions test scores fewer than five years old (if required by the department; for departments that don't require a test, see "Admissions Examination Criteria"). 
  • If unofficial test results were supplied as part of the application process, official results must be sent directly from the testing agency upon admission.
  • Individual departments may demand additional application materials (e.g., portfolios, writing samples, replies to essay questions, etc.). 
  • For more information, applicants should contact departments directly, and a list of materials that can currently be submitted can be found under 'Manage Supporting Documents.

Transportation in the city

There are numerous ways to get to Alabama college, in the United States, including taking the bus, train, walking, or renting a motorcycle. The city has an efficient and well-developed public transportation system. All campus cities have excellent public transportation networks that are safe, dependable, and convenient. Most students use a local transit pass to get to Alabama College because it is a cheap way to get there. Students on each campus have different transit passes.
