The University of British Columbia's Library supports the development of undergraduate students into prospective researchers and houses the essential academic resources for graduate students and teachers.

  • The Library is a welcoming environment where collaboration, innovative thinking, and intellectual engagement are given the resources, encouragement, and chance to improve the world. More than 2,300 people are employed by the Okanagan library, which has 650 seats, 10 study rooms, and 127 computer workstations.
  • Everyone can use the Student Learning Hub's free services. It offers UBC students of all majors and academic years the opportunity to access a variety of peer and professional services.
  • It offers advice and treatment for student health issues, referrals, and health information for mental, physical, and sexual/reproductive health.

The 519-acre UBC Okanagan campus is situated in the stunning Okanagan Valley and has an international student population of 18% from more than 100 countries.

The Commons building at UBC Okanagan significantly impacts how visitors, faculty, staff, and students interact with one another and the University. Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Principal Deborah Buszard referred to the Commons as a "transformative building for University of British Columbia Okanagan." 

  • The Commons is a premier teaching and learning facility designed to foster and promote student potential at every point of their academic lives at UBC O.
  • In addition to a classroom with 400 seats, a visualization and emerging media studio, and more than 350 new study and collaborative spaces, The Commons provides dynamic teaching and learning facilities for a rapidly expanding campus. The Commons is anything but ordinary because of its cutting-edge, futuristic design, specifically created to promote cooperation, scholarly engagement, and creativity.
  • The UBC Collegium is where you may unwind in a cozy, inviting, and comfortable setting while taking a break between sessions to chat, use a kitchen, or relax. Students can find a study space, hang out with other commuter students, or take a nap here.
  • The University of British Columbia Food Hub is a one-stop shop for food-related services on both the Vancouver and Okanagan campuses. It offers everything from affordable meals and nutrition information to food security programs and details about sustainable food systems on campus.

On campus accomodation

Nine residential sections are under the management of Student Housing and Hospitality Services on the Okanagan University of British Columbia, Okanagan Campus. Most first-year undergraduate students are assigned to one of the following residences: Cassiar, Nicola, Purcell, Kalamalka, Valhalla, Nechako, Skeena, or Similkameen Place. 

 These residences feature single furnished rooms, lively common areas for snacking and socializing, and lots of space for quiet study sessions. 

  • Depending on availability, some new students will be placed in suite-style housing in Monashee Place or Lower/Upper Cascades, where upper-year students and some graduate students also dwell.
  • The majority of prospective undergraduates domestic and international will be eligible for a guaranteed room in residence for the Winter Session because they believe living in residence is an important and meaningful way to spend their university years.
  • Never stress over cooking or washing dishes! UBC is thrilled to provide residents with an All-Access Meal Plan that students can use at Pritchard Dining Hall in Nechako Residence. 
  • The resources and support services offered in residence and across campus, such as health and wellness and safety initiatives, are made known to residence advisors by existing University of British Columbia students.
