University of Dubuque provides its students with the best academic and non-academic facilities. The university offers its various educational programs through the following schools:

  • Almost 80 percent of the university's classrooms are fully-equipped "smart classrooms" with an instructor PC, LCD projector and control system. The Media Services offers training and orientation sessions for any classroom. It also includes an amphitheater. 
  • The University offers six computer labs for student and faculty use. It consists of  80 computers located in various technology centers across the campus. 
  • For students with musical and art pursuits, the instrumental rehearsal room, music education center, arts suites and galleries and the black box theater are all readily available at their disposal. 
  • The Charles C. Myers Library of the university connects students to resources they need. It also serves as a cultural center with a welcoming learning environment and is equipped with 28 PC’s in the Computer Literacy Center. 
  • The conference room, student & faculty lounges, student engagement suites as well as the common rooms are placed all over campus so members of the university can have wider access for educational purposes. 
  • There are three university science centers along with a heating center. 
  • The university includes the Heritage Center, a state-of-the-art facility for performances and more. 
  • The university is equipped with the Babka Bookstore which  sells textbooks, clothes and merchandise. 
  • Photocopying and scanning services are available for students’ personal use on the main and second floor of the Library. Scanning documents is free of charge, and copying is deducted from the student’s print account. 
  • The Office of First-Year Experience (FYE) is the university’s home for new students which  helps students get connected and comfortable with life on campus. 
  • The University of Dubuque's Office of Vocation, Career Services, and Community Engagement helps students with internships, career explorations and future endeavors.

Student life

  • The Judge James L. Martin Multicultural Student Center provides students the opportunity to hold meetings & events, do homework or study and relax and socialize on the campus. 
  • Students of the university can choose from 60 different student organizations which are governed by the Student Government Association. Moreover, the university has eight social identity student organizations that students can get involved with. 
  • The university’s students compete in various sports which include basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, track & field, volleyball, baseball and lacrosse. 
  • Students can explore their sporting interests through the numerous facilities that the Sports Complex houses, like the indoor track, baseball field, softball field, tennis courts, basketball courts, the golf club among few.
  • The university is equipped with the gymnasium that is home to all volleyball, wrestling contests, athletic events and more.  
  • The Chlapaty Recreation and Wellness Center and the Cottingham and Butler Fitness Center are 2-level fitness center including areas for cardiovascular workout and free weights/machines; a 16 foot-wide concourse running the length of the facility which overlooks the track and courts and even includes locker rooms and a juice bar/lounge area. 
  • The university includes the Debra Runkle Center which is a two story facility that houses 124 lockers for football players, laundry units, and maintenance storage areas.
  • The Smeltzer-Kelly Student Health Center provides students with Primary Health Care, Brain Health and Counseling Services, Dietary and Wellness Educational Services and Gender Health. 
  • There are two 2 cafes, one ice cream shop and a convenience store available on campus. 
  • All international students are provided with Health Insurance by the university. 
  • The university has developed the UD Cares Initiative which provides support for students related to mental health issues. 
  • The university provides students with escort and shuttle services for personal safety through the Office of Safety & Security. 
  • The Sexual Assault Support Services promote awareness and prevention of sexual assult on campus through regular training, free medical tests, confidential counseling and other services. 
  • Additional services like a childcare center, parking areas and assistance centers are also present on campus. 

On campus accomodation

University of Dubuque provides hostel facilities on campus for all students, including international students. The university has three traditional residence halls for undergraduate students living on campus as well as six apartment style buildings for upper-class students. 

Accommodations are available in standard townhouse rooms, pod-style, apartment buildings and traditional resident housing. The following are the above mentioned residential hostels, along with their respective amenities. 

  • Aitchison Hall is a co-ed residence hall occupied by first-year undergraduates. It has two floors for women and two floors for men, separated by a common lounge area. The rooms can be shared by two roommates and they are not air-conditioned. 
  • Cassat Hall and Donnet Hall are co-ed residence halls occupied by first-year undergraduates. The halls have alternating floors for women and men. The rooms can be shared by two roommates and they are not air-conditioned. 
  • Chlapaty Hall is the newest residence hall typically occupied by sophomore students. The residence hall is a four-story structure designed with 11 pod-style rooms.  Each pod includes seven double bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchenette, lounge, and study area. The 11 pods include geothermal heating and cooling. 
  • Park Village Apartments consist of six apartment buildings occupied by upper-class undergraduates. The first three apartments have 3 floors and the next three apartments contain 4 floors. The three-story buildings contain 17-four bedroom apartments and the other three consist of 22-five-bedroom apartments. Park Village also has a large community room with a pool table, kitchen area, and television. The community room is also used for student life and academic programming.
  • The Townhouses consist of 32 three- or four-bedroom two story units, each equipped with a refrigerator, an electric stove, a dishwasher, air conditioning, and a one car garage. The Townhouses are home to graduate, seminary and select undergraduate students. 
  • The average on-campus housing rent is 5,070 USD (392,952) annually.
