The private institution of the University of Indianapolis drew its name from its location, Indianapolis, and was established in 1902. The University of Indianapolis offers research opportunities to the social science candidates through the CRC or Community Research Center. In CRC, the students can focus on applied research projects and also on research reports co-authored with the faculty members. The Summer Research Institute is another option for the students to engage in research during the springtime.
