University of Massachusetts Lowell

There are too many options for getting to the University of Massachusetts Lowell, such as taking the bus, bike, walking, or train. The city has a well-established and effective public transportation system.  

Download the UMass Bus App: Fortunately, UMass provides a trustworthy and simple-to-use transportation system that is available to everyone for free. You should be able to find the app right away by searching "UMass Bus" in the Google Play Store or App Store. 

Employ Google Maps: You can rely on Google Maps in this instance because it is quite dependable. Enter the name of the place you are looking for, and it should appear. Then, instead of using the road, you can select to walk, and Google Maps will show you a walking path that will take you exactly where you need to go. 

Bike with you: You can always bring your bicycle to UMass if you don't like to walk and don't want to use public transportation. Additionally, numerous bike racks are located throughout the area where you can lock your bicycle. Some students even carry electric skateboards and longboards for transportation. 

• Library - The Central Library is a contemporary, three-story, glass structure with a total area of 5382 square meters that cost Rs. 945 lacs to build. The collection includes materials in a variety of fields in both libraries. 

For the benefit of scientists, academics, students, and employees, an online library system is made up of network terminals that give access to e-books, e-journals, the internet, and other e-reference materials. 

While designing and furnishing the library, its requirements and functions were considered.

Health services

• All overseas students at the University of Massachusetts Lowell must sign up for the university's student health insurance program. 

The university does not regard foreign or travel insurance as comparable coverage to waive the university health insurance.

• There are many organizations formed with the student’s association of the University of Massachusetts; some of these are the Vietnamese students’ association, Office of student activities, Christian student fellowship, Latin American student association, etc.

• The University of Massachusetts Lowell always keen in organizing different type of engaging events for students, some are like LGBTQ+ ice cream social, OMA open house, and Hoops and Scoops, etc.

• Race and ethnic minority students, LGBTQ+ students, students from foreign countries, veterans, transfer students, first-generation college students, as well as many more identities are just a few of the groups on campus that UMass Lowell Counseling Services is aware of. 

• Crisis intervention, group counseling, individual counseling, couples counseling, alcohol and other drug counseling, biofeedback, consultation, and referrals are just a few services that UMLCS provides to assist our students.

It is available both on and off campus as various student-specific accommodations are available around the area of the University of Massachusetts. 

• The furniture in each room includes a bed, desk, chair, bureau, and wardrobe. Additionally, study tables, chairs, and semi-private toilets are included in suite-style rooms for students. 

• Every building is coed. All full- or part-time students are eligible for student housing.
