The University of Michigan, known as (UMD) is one of the two regional universities operating under the policies of the University of Michigan board of regents. The university was founded in the year 1959. Initially, it was known as the Dearborn Center of the University of Michigan but later renamed in 1963 as the Dearborn Campus of the University of Michigan. The university offers many courses for Undergraduate, Graduate, and Doctoral degrees. In the academic year 2021-2022, there are approximately 8331 students at the University of Michigan, Dearborn, out of which 6335 are Undergraduate students, 1845 are graduate students, and 131 are Doctoral students.

The average class size that UMD offers to students is 25, and more than 68% of the classes at the University have less than 30 students.
