The University of Wisconsin Stout, established in 1891, is a public university that offers specialised studies "in industry, technology, home economics, applied art, and the assisting professions." It has an enrollment of 10,000 students representing 47 countries.

Transportation in the city

The University of Wisconsin-Stout provides campus and community bus services in partnership with Dunn County Transit. StoutRoute Campus Bus is available to students, faculty, and staff for free with their UW-Stout ID. This service makes it easy to travel around campus. The service operates from Monday-Friday during the academic year.


Services offered by the university

  • There are 25 major academic and administrative structures, ten residence halls, and 245 laboratories on the 124-acre (50-hectare) site.
  • Textbooks, a laptop with cutting-edge software, and all of the necessities for your room are included in your university of Wisconsin Stout and residence hall costs.
  • Recreational facilities, health & wellness programs, and campus gardens are all available on campus. On-campus, students represent various of ethnic, racial, sexual, and gender identities. The campus follows a model of social justice.

Student life

The University of Wisconsin–Stout is divided into two parts: the main campus and the north campus, which consists largely of residence halls, dining, and health facilities.

  • To enhance student safety, the school includes its own licensed police agency and a child care centre.
  • A diverse range of activities is offered, with 91 percent of pupils participating regularly.
  • There are more than 150 student organizations, with 78 percent of students participating. They can organize themselves according to their interests.
  • To be eligible for a drawing for USD 10 (INR 774) in Chamber money, walk, cycle, or commute to campus utilizing a non-greenhouse means at least five times per month. You will receive one additional entry for every additional five carbon-free commute days.

On campus accomodation

University of Wisconsin Stout housing Stout's facilities are designed to welcome  students of all sexual and gender identities, and the university maintains a dedicated LGBTQIA+ Office to assist them. International student services, handicap student services, Veteran's Services, and Health Services are all offered to students.

  • Study rooms, printers, housing staff, vending machines, and game and lounge areas are all available in on-campus residence  halls.
  •  Off-campus housing offers a variety of options between 3-15 minutes of walking distance of campus. Except in rare circumstances, first-year students and sophomores must live on campus.
  • A study desk and chair, closets, bookshelves, dressers, attic, mattress, and microwaves are all included in the on-campus accommodations (microwave, fridge and freezer in one).
  • Dining facilities are included in the Baseline Plan and can be updated. BlockPlan and Flexline dining plans allow off-campus students to access to on-campus dining facilities.
