Virginia Commonwealth University, established in 1838, is a public research university in Richmond, Virginia. It is affiliated with ORAU, SURA, CUMU, Urban 13/GCU, and Sea-grant. It is one of the oldest institutes in the city and home to the first organ transplant center in the state. The Virginia Commonwealth University is expanding its course offerings to over 200, and it is doing so in a very professional manner. Through its 20 schools, the university grants bachelor's, master's, professional, doctoral, and a few certificate programs in addition to these degrees. Transportation in the city

For little over 50,000 students, faculty members, staff members, and guests, Virginia Commonwealth University Parking and Transportation offers parking and transit options. Student life

The Monroe Park Campus, which is west of downtown Richmond, and the MCV Campus, which is located in the city, are the two primary campuses of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Along with numerous regional facilities, VCU also operates a branch campus in Education City, Doha, Qatar.

The Cary Street Gym was constructed in the 1890s. It now has two pools, a rock climbing wall, a four-court gym, a running track, racquetball courts, and more, and is generally open until midnight.

On the MCV Campus, the Larrick student center combines a gym and a student center where students may work out, swim, eat at Jonah's, drink coffee at Starbucks, and socialize.
