Washington University in St. Louis is a private research university with its main campus based in St. Louis County, and Clayton, Missouri. It was founded in 1853 and named after George Washington. Major education publications rank it among the most prestigious universities in the United States and around the globe.

Transportation in the city

The university has a Washington University in St. Louis Campus Shuttle System for all students and faculty members. Students can register to get a Metro U-Pass and ride Metro for free that connects to WashU campus.
