Youngstown State University, abbreviated as YSU, is a public-funded university located in Youngstown, Ohio. It was founded in 1908 and was granted full-fledged university status in 1955. YSU is the easternmost member of the University System of Ohio. The University offers 150 undergraduate programs and 50 graduate degree programs in diverse fields such as biological sciences, business, management, communication, etc. The current enrollment of YSU is 12000 plus students, out of whom 454 are international students. The main campus of the Youngstown State University sprawls across 145 acres of land and has an urban setting. The campus is connected to critical urban centers by trains, buses, and taxis.

  • YSU operates out of six academic colleges and one graduate school: Beeghly College of Education, Bitonte College of Health and Human Services, Cliffe College of Creative Arts and Communication, College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, and Williamson  College of Business Administration.
  • The Youngstown State University Campus is equipped with state-of-the-art modern infrastructural facilities such as extensive libraries, high-tech classrooms, computer labs, study rooms, student affairs offices, seminar rooms, bookstores, etc.
  • The university's Kilcawley center is the primary hub of student activities and comprises several eateries like Wendy's, Dunkin' Donuts, etc.

Youngstown State University offers on-campus housing to students through five residence halls: Cafaro House, Kilcawley House, Lyden House, Wick House, and Weller House. Currently, 12% of YSU students live in campus housing facilities.
